Tips for tracking life points

  • Announce every change ("taking 2400, down to 5600") so your opponent can confirm it.
  • Paying LP is a cost. You can't pay more life points than you have.
  • Battle damage: when two Attack Position monsters battle, the weaker one's controller takes the difference in ATK. If you attack a Defense Position monster with higher DEF, you take the difference. Attacking a lower-DEF monster deals no damage unless your monster has piercing.
  • Use the coin flip and dice in the ☰ menu for cards that call for them.

Yu-Gi-Oh! life point counter FAQ

How many life points do you start with in Yu-Gi-Oh!?

8000 LP in a standard duel and in Rush Duels. Speed Duels start at 4000 LP.

How do I enter damage?

Tap a duelist's side to open the calculator. Type the amount, or tap 100, 500, 1000 or 2000, then tap − Damage or + Gain.

How does halving life points work?

Tap ½ Halve LP. The counter takes away half of that duelist's LP. If the total is odd, it rounds in the duelist's favor.

Can I roll a die or flip a coin?

Does it work for Tag Duels?

Yes. In a Tag Duel, each team of two shares one 16,000 LP total. Pick Tag Duel and 2 duelists, and use one side for each team.
